Tour 2) Taste of the Highlands

This tour will travel south from the port of Invergordon, following the coastline of the Cromarty Firth, over the fertile farmland of the Black Isle, around the coastline of the Beauly Firth, and on to the first stop in the historic village of Beauly.

On leaving Beauly the tour will travel east and then south through the Inverness-shire countryside before arriving in the village of Drumnadrochit, close to Loch Ness, before turning north and travelling the western shore of the legendary loch, before stopping alongside for a photo stop only.

The tour will then continue north, over the Caledonian Canal, and into the compact Scottish Highland capital city of Inverness. The tour will proceed into Ardross Street, the designated bus and coach drop off and pick up point for Inverness visitors.

Whilst in the city centre you will have ample time to take a pleasant riverside walk, check out the fine retail and refreshment outlets, including the Victorian Market, where an authentic locally produced street food lunch can be sought in the fine communal food hall.

A visit to Inverness will not be complete without taking in the views from around the city’s most significant piece of historic real estate, that has recently been turned into the Inverness Castle Experience.

On leaving the city centre, the tour will travel west around the Beauly Firth, and on to the Glen Ord Distillery on the outskirts of the village of Muir of Ord, where a complimentary dram of fine single malt Scotch Whisky in the impressive visitor centre will be on offer. Please note that this visit does not include a tour of the distillery.

The tour will then conclude by returning north to your ship at Invergordon.
